Gondh (Edible Gum) Pak | Edible Gum Halwa | Gundar Halwasan

Gondh/Gundar/Edible gum is good for health and it provides numerous health benefits. Gondh (Edible gum) pak consumed mostly during winter to protect from cold. It tastes delicious along with providing strengthens to joints.




INGREDIENTS: FOR 12-15 PIECES

Gondh(Edible gum) .......... ½  Cup
Ghee melted ...................... ¼ Cup
Milk ...................................... 2 Cup
Sugar ................................. Cup
Almond sliced .................... ¼ Cup
Coconut Powder ................ ½ Cup
Ginger powder ................... 1 Tbsp.
Ganthoda powder .............. 1 Tbsp.
Poppy seeds ...................... 2 Tbsp.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In grinder take edible gum, crush it and make a fine powder.  Then strain it through a strainer so you can remove a lump from them.
  2. Melt the ghee in a heavy bottom pan, add gondh(edible gum) powder and roast for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. 
  3. Then add milk and stir the mixture continuously on a medium flame till it becomes thick and lumpy.  
  4. Then add sugar and stir continuously till sugar’s water gets evaporated. Then add poppy seeds, ganthoda powder, ginger powder and stir the mixture continuously. 
  5. When mixture became thick add coconut powder and almond slices and mix well. When mixture became thick better remove from the heat. 
  6. Pour the mixture into the greased plate.  Use a flat-bottomed katori to spread the mixture evenly in the plate.
  7. Now cut into 2” squares with a knife.  Spread almond slices, coconut powder and poppy seeds on the top, then gently press on top of that.
  8. Remove pieces after 1-2 hours when it is completely cool down. 
  9. Store gondh pak in an airtight container.  You can store Gondh Pak at room temperature for 8-10 days easily.
