Ginger Halwa | Ginger Pak | Aadu Pak

Ginger Halwa is made from a bunch of healthy ingredients, each ingredient in this dessert is associated with good health. Ginger is a wonder spice has numerous health benefits. In India, ginger is liberally used in daily life. Here is one delicious recipe for ginger which includes other healthy ingredients; almond, cashew, edible gum, poppy seeds, dry coconut, and jaggery.



INGREDIENTS: FOR 3 cup Halwa

Ginger crushed ................. 1 Cup
Ghee melted .................... ¾ Cup
Edible gum ..................... ¼  Cup
Jaggery chopped ....... 1 ½ Cups
Almond crushed .............. ½ Cup
Cashew crushed ............ ¼  Cup
Dry coconut crushed ....... ½ Cup
Raisin .............................. 3 Tbsp.
Poppy seeds ................... 2 Tbsp.
Almond sliced ................. ¼ Cup



DIRECTIONS:

  1. In grinder take edible gum, crush it and make a fine powder.  Then strain it through a strainer so you can remove a lump from them.
  2. Melt ¼ cup of ghee in kadai add ginger crushed and roast on medium heat. Continuously stir the mixture until the ginger water gets evaporated and ghee coming out from the mixture.
  3. Then add edible gum powder and mix well.  Roast for 3-4 minutes more then take it out kadai from the heat and keep it aside.
  4. Heat remaining ghee in another kadai on medium heat, add chopped jaggery and stir the mixture continuously.  
  5. When Jaggery absorbed properly with ghee and start bubbling add crushed almond, cashew, coconut and mix well. 
  6. Add ginger-Edible gum mixture and stir the mixture continuously. (When you add ginger-Edible gum mixture it became little loose in texture). 
  7. After 5-6 minutes add poppy seeds, raisin, almond slices and mix well.  Take it out kadai from the heat and transfer mixture to another big vassal for cool down.  
  8. Now Ginger Halwa is ready for serving.
