Kanda Poha | Poha | Onion Masala Poha

Kanda poha is very popular breakfast or light snacks dish. Plenty of onions with peanuts makes this very tasty. It is very quick to make and goes very well with Indian tea.




INGREDIENTS: for 3-4 servings

Thick Poha .........................  3 Cup
Oil ...................................... 3 Tbsp.
Onion Chopped ................   1 Cup
Green Chili Chopped .......  2 Tbsp.
Curry leaves ……...............  10-12
Ginger Paste ..................  ½ Tbsp.
Mustard Seeds ....................  1 tsp.
Cumin Seeds ......................  1 tsp.
Asafoetida .........................  ½ tsp.
Turmeric Powder ............  ½ Tbsp.
Sugar ...............................  2 Tbsp.
Lime Juice .......................  1 Tbsp.
Coriander Chopped ........  ¼ Cup
Peanut ............................  ¼ Cup
Salt ............................  As Needed



DIRECTIONS:
  1. Wash poha in a bowl with water and drain water out afterwards from the bowl. Cover bowl with the lead with putting some weight on top of it and keep aside for 15-20 minute.
  2. Take oil in a pan and heat it up. Shallow fry peanut in oil and keep it aside.
  3. Now add mustard seeds and when it starts to crackle add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Add chopped onions and mix well.
  4. While sauteing' onions, add ginger paste, green chili chopped, turmeric powder, salt and mix it well. Let it cooked till onion become little soft.
  5. Now add sugar, lime juice and mix it well. Add poha from bowl mix it well and let it cook 2-3 minutes on slow heat.
  6. At last add coriander chopped and fried peanuts in poha. Mix poha well and serve hot with tea.
