Rava Uttapam | Quick Uttapam Recipe | Vegetable Uttapam

Rava Uttapam is a colorful and delicious South Indian dish. It is easy and quick to make and good for any time meal. Mostly eaten with sambhar and coconut chutney.



INGREDIENTS: for 7-8 Uttapam

Rava (Suji coarse) .................  2 Cup
Yogurt .................................. 1½ Cup
Ginger paste ...................... 1½ Tbsp.
Green pepper small pieces ... 1  Cup
Onion chopped ......................  1 Cup
Tomato chopped ....................  1 Cup
Red cabbage slices .............  ½ Cup
Green chili chopped  ............  1 Tbsp.
Coriander leaves chopped  ... ½ Cup
Salt ................................ As per taste
Oil ................................... As needed



DIRECTIONS:
  1. Take rava (suji coarse) in a pan and roast it on low heat. Transfer it to another bowl and add yogurt, water as per needed and prepare the batter. Mix ginger paste and keep it aside for 1 hr.
  2. Now mix salt, half chopped vegetables - red cabbage, green pepper, onion, tomato, green chili and coriander leaves into the batter. In another bowl mix all leftover vegetables and keep aside for toppings.
  3. Heat the flat pan on medium high heat. Spread about one cup of batter and make a round shape on the pan. Spread ¼ cup of mix vegetables on top and press it a little bit.
  4. Once uttapam turns into golden brown color from the bottom then flip it on another side. Let it cook on medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes and when it little bit change in color on another side then take it out from pan. Repeat the same process for remaining batter to prepare uttapam.
  5. Serve hot with sambhar and coconut chutney.
