Roti Churmu | Sweet Churmu

Roti churmu is a sweet dish made from wheat rotis. If you have leftover rotis and can't decide what to do with that rotis.  Here is a really quick recipe to utilize leftover rotis and transform into a yummy dessert. For this recipe, you need jaggery, ghee and sliced almonds.




INGREDIENTS: for 2 servings

Wheat roti  ............................  4 - 5
Ghee melted ...................    2 Tbsp.
Jaggery grated ................   ⅓  Cup
Cardamom powder ............  ¼  tsp.
Almond sliced ..................   2 Tbsp.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a food processor crush 4-5 wheat rotis.  It will become approx 1 cup of crushed roti.
  2. Heat the ghee in kadai on medium heat, add grated jaggery and stir the mixture continuously.  
  3. When Jaggery absorbed properly with ghee and start bubbling remove kadai from the heat and immediately add roti pieces and mix well. Also, add cardamom powder and almond slices and mix well.
  4. Serve churmu in a bowl after little cooldown.

Note: You can also make laddoos from this chumu when it’s little hot.
