Apple Kheer | Healthy Kheer

Apple Kheer is delicious, nutritious and healthy sweet dish. It is made using grated apple boiled with milk and cooked with sugar, cardamom and garnished with dry fruits. It is quick and sweetened desserts to serve well in any occasions including fast.




INGREDIENTS: for 4-5 servings


Apple shredded with Skin ... 1 Cup
Sugar .................................  ¼ Cup
Milk ......................................  6 Cup
Cardamom powder ..............  1 tsp.
Almond sliced .................... 2 Tbsp.
Pistachio sliced  ................  2 Tbsp.


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Take 6 cups of milk in a pan and boil till it reduces to 4 cups while stirring and scraping the sides of the pan continuously and keep it aside. 
  2. Wash 2 red apples properly and shred it with skin.( Apples should be sweet, not sour otherwise your milk will curdle.) 
  3. Take shredded apple in a pan and stir the mixture continuously on a low flame till its water gets evaporated. ( it takes approximately 3-4 minutes). 
  4. Then add sugar to it and stir continuously till sugar’s water gets evaporated. 
  5. Then add ¼ part of boiled milk, and stir the mixture continuously. When mixture absorbs the most milk , add another ¼ part of milk and stir well, repeat again the same process and add all milk into a shredded apple. 
  6. When milk became thicken add cardamom powder, sliced pistachio and almonds. 
  7. Take it out from heat and keep it aside for cool down, sprinkle pistachios and almonds on top. 
  8. Apple kheer can be served warm or chilled.
