Besan Sev | Plain Bhujia

Besan sev is nothing but gram flour Noodles. It is eaten as a snack on it’s own or as sev mamra where you add puffed rice to it. It’s also used to sprinkle on a lot of Indian fast foods such as bhel mix and sev usal.





INGREDIENTS: for 4 cups of sev


Besan(gram flour) ...........  2 Cups
Salt ............................ As per taste
Black salt ............................  ½ tsp.
Black pepper powder ........  ½ tsp.
Turmeric powder ................  Pinch
Hot oil ................................. 2 Tbsp.
Water ........................... As needed
Oil ..............................  For deep fry



DIRECTIONS:

  1. In bowl take besan(gram flour), black pepper powder, black salt powder, salt, turmeric powder and mix well. Slowly add little water and prepare thick paste kind consistency. Add hot oil and mix well. Cover it and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes. 
  2. Heat oil in pan over medium heat.
  3. Take greased chakli maker with thin sev (the plate with very small holes) attachment.  Fill some batter on it and close tightly. 
  4. Once oil is ready press the dough into circular motion and press out thin strands into hot oil. Deep fry on a slow flame till light brown and crisp. 
  5. With the help of slotted spoon remove extra oil and place them on absorbent napkin.
  6. Repeat same process for remaining batter.
  7. Allow them to cool and store into an airtight container.
