Farsi Puri | Crispy Puri | Diwali Snack

Farsi puri is extremely crispy and always delicious to eat. It is made from maida, black pepper, ajwain seeds, oil and other spices. Make this today and enjoyed with a hot cup of tea or with your favorite chat dish.




INGREDIENTS: for 20-25 puris

All purpose flour ...............  2 Cup
Oil ....................................  6 Tbsp.
Ajwain seeds ....................... 1 tsp.
Black pepper crushed ......... 1 tsp.
Salt ............................ As needed
Oil ....................... For deep frying
Water ......................... As needed


DIRECTIONS:
  1. Take all purpose flour(maida) in a bowl.  Add oil, salt, ajwain seeds, black pepper crushed and mix well.  Add water gradually as needed and knead into a hard dough.  Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into 20-25 equal portions and roll out each portion into 3” thin round circle. 
  3. Prick the puris surface with a fork at regular intervals.
  4. Now heat the oil in a pan on medium heat.  Once the oil is ready, add 4-5 puri at a time for frying.  Fry puris on low-medium heat till it becomes crispy and light golden in color.
  5. Remove farsi puris from oil and drain excess oil on a piece of tissue paper.  Fry all the puris like this.
  6. Cool completely and store in an air-tight container.  It can stay good for up to 4 weeks.
