Thalipeeth | Multigrain Masala Roti

Thalipeeth is healthy paratha made from various flours. It is very nutritious, rich in iron, folic acid and a quite delicious snack for breakfast. This is the combination of many flour and spices. It tastes good with tea, yogurt or chutney.




INGREDIENTS: for 8 thalipeeth


Wheat flour ........................  ½ Cup
Juvar flour ..........................  ½ Cup
Urad flour ............................  ¼ Cup
Besan ..................................  ¼ Cup
Rice flour .............................  ¼ Cup
Oil ......................................... 2 Tbsp.
Sesame seeds ...................  2 Tbsp.
Cumin seeds ..........................  1 tsp.
Onion chopped .................... ½ Cup
Ginger garlic paste .............  2 Tbsp.
Coriander leaves chopped . 2 Tbsp.
Turmeric powder .................... ¼ tsp.
Green chili paste .................. 3 Tbsp.
Salt ................................  As needed
Water .............................  As needed
Oil ...................................  As needed



DIRECTIONS:

  1. Take all flour in a bowl, add oil and mix it well. Now Add turmeric powder, green chili paste, salt, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste, and mix it well. 
  2. Add chopped onions, chopped coriander leaves, and knead into a firm dough, using enough water. 
  3. Make 8 equal balls from the dough. Put the plastic paper on your rolling surface, wet the plastic paper with water and place 1 ball and cover with another wet plastic paper. 
  4. Now start to flatten it with your hand to make 5” flatbread and make a hole at the center of thalipeeth. 
  5. Now remove thalipeeth from plastic paper carefully and put on a hot Tawa. First, cook one side. It should be less than half cooked. Turn and cook the other side. This side should be a completely cooked till light golden spots appear. 
  6. Then apply some oil on first sides of thalipeeth, turn and cook till light golden spots appear. 
  7. Remove thalipeeth from the tawa. Prepare all remaining thalipeeth same way. 
  8. Serve thalipeeth with yogurt or chutney.
