The recipe is simple and easy, like regular bhakhari.

INGREDIENTS: FOR 10 bhakharis

Oats  ............................ 2½ Cup
Wheat flour ..................... 1 Cup
Oil .................................. 4 Tbsp.
Salt ......................... As needed
Water ...................... As needed
Oil ........................... As needed

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Crush oats in grinder and make a coarse powder.
  2. Take crushed oats and wheat flour in a bowl then add salt and oil. Mix well and knead into a firm dough, using enough water. Since oats absorbed more water, you must add little more water than regular dough. In starting it seems dough is not firm, but afterward, when oats absorbed water it became firm. So, be careful about that. If you make a firm dough in starting it become drier in 2-3 minutes and you could not able to make bhakhari with dry dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions and cover it. Roll out one portion into 4-5 inches round thick circle.
  4. Put rolled bhakhari on a hot tawa.  First, cook one side. It should be less than half cooked. Turn and cook the other side. This side should be a completely cooked till light golden spots appear.
  5. Apply some oil on first sides of bhakhari, turn and cook till light golden spots appear and the bhakhri turns crisp.
  6. Remove bhakhari from the tawa. Prepare all remaining bhakharis same way.
  7. You can enjoy oats bhakhari with tea/coffee or with subji.
