Paneer Butter Masala is a traditional Punjabi recipe in which soft pieces of Paneer are cooked in rich creamy butter & tomato gravy. Rich and aromatic gravy made by using tomato puree, ginger-garlic paste, and some Indian spices. Paneer Butter Masala goes very well with Phulkas, Naan, Tandoori Roti, Paratha etc. as well as with Rice varieties like jeera rice or even plain rice.



INGREDIENTS: for 3-4 servings

Tomato cubes .....................  3 Cups
Green cardamom ........................  3
Butter ................................... 4 Tbsp
Oil  ................................... 1+1 Tbsp
Garlic paste ........................ ½ Tbsp
Ginger paste ......................  ½ Tbsp
Red chili powder .................  1 Tbsp
Salt .............................. As per taste
Honey ...................................1 Tbsp
Kasoori methi powder ...........1 Tbsp
Garam masala powder ........  ½  tsp.
Paneer cubes  .................. 1½ Cups
Heavy cream ........................ ¼ Cup



DIRECTIONS:
  1. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add green cardamom and tomato cubes. Mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Remove from the heat and let it cool down little, then make fine puree in blender. Strain puree with the strainer.
  3. Heat 4 tablespoon butter with 1 tablespoon of oil in heavy bottom pan. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add red chili powder and strained tomato puree.
  4. Add salt and mix well. Cover it and cook for 20-25 minutes on low-medium heat.
  5. Add honey, kasoori methi powder(dry fenugreek leaves powder) and garam masala powder. Mix well. In the last, add paneer cubes and heavy cream.
  6. Mix well and remove from the heat.
  7. Serve with paratha or naan.
