Methi Masala Thepla | Methi Paratha | Thepla

Methi masala thepla is delicious thepla are made from fenugreek leaves, whole wheat flour, and other Indian spices. There are few other similar methi flatbread recipes methi paratha and methi thepla on the blog. This one is very simple and needs very few ingredients. Also, this thepla is best for traveling as it stays good for the longest time.



INGREDIENTS: for 25 Theplas

Wheat flour ........................  2 Cup
Oil ...................................... 5 Tbsp.
Kasoori Methi ....................  ¼ Cup
Turmeric powder ................  ¼ tsp.
Red chili powder .............. ½ Tbsp.
Salt .............................  As needed
Water .........................  As needed
Oil ...............................  As needed



DIRECTIONS:
  1. Take wheat flour in a bowl, add oil and mix it well. Now add turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and mix it well. 
  2. Add kasoori methi or you can also use fresh methi leaves too. If you are using fresh methi leaves add ½ cup chopped methil leaves and knead into a semi-soft dough using enough water. 
  3. Now make 25 equal balls out of the dough. Apply little oil to the balls. Apply little oil on the rolling board also. Now start rolling the ball into flat 4-5” thin round. 
  4. Now heat a tava and cook thepla one side then flip it. Apple little oil and turn it again. Take it out from the hit quickly. Remember, this thepla is very thin so it cooked very quickly and you should turn them very quickly. You have to cook them little bit don’t over cook, other wise it will not turn out soft. 
  5. You can enjoy this thepla with fresh yogurt or tea. This will stay longer so you can make them for picnic or travelling.
